Rohini (रोहिणी)
Rohini covers verses 13 to 16 of the stotram, one for each of its four padas.
Pada 1 · Verse 13
रुद्रो बहुशिरा बभ्रुर्विश्वयोनिश्शुचिश्रवाः ।
अमृतश्शाश्वतः स्थाणुर्वरारोहो महातपाः ॥ १३ ॥
rudrō bahuśirā babhrurviśvayōniśśuciśravāḥ |
amṛtaśśāśvataḥ sthāṇurvarārōhō mahātapāḥ || 13 ||
He brings tears of joy to His devotees and, as Adisesha with a thousand heads, bears the world. He makes the released souls His own, delights in hearing praise, and is a nectar no one tires of. He is eternal and firm, the supreme goal. As Sankarshana, He is endowed with great knowledge.
Pada 2 · Verse 14
सर्वगः सर्वविद्भानुः विष्वक्सेनो जनार्दनः ।
वेदो वेदविदव्यङ्गो वेदाङ्गो वेदवित्कविः ॥ १४ ॥
sarvagaḥ sarvavidbhānuḥ viṣvaksēnō janārdanaḥ |
vēdō vēdavidavyaṅgō vēdāṅgō vēdavitkaviḥ || 14 ||
As Aniruddha, He pervades and controls all, and as Pradyumna, He brings forth creation and rules the heavenly bodies. His armies protect those who seek refuge, and He removes their obstacles. He is the Vedas and their true knower. He gives us their limbs, inspires us to practise them, and is the wisest of seers.
Pada 3 · Verse 15
लोकाध्यक्षस्सुराध्यक्षो धर्माध्यक्षः कृताकृतः ।
चतुरात्मा चतुर्व्यूहश्चतुर्दंष्ट्रश्चतुर्भुजः ॥ १५ ॥
lōkādhyakṣassurādhyakṣō dharmādhyakṣaḥ kṛtākṛtaḥ |
caturātmā caturvyūhaścaturdaṃṣṭraścaturbhujaḥ || 15 ||
He presides over the people, the devas and dharma, and grants the fruits of every act, both passing and lasting. He manifests as the four vyuha forms and governs the four states of awareness. He has four mighty teeth as Narasimha, and as Para Vasudeva He has four arms bearing the discus, conch, mace and lotus.
Pada 4 · Verse 16
भ्राजिष्णुर्भोजनं भोक्ता सहिष्णुर्जगदादिजः ।
अनघो विजयो जेता विश्वयोनिः पुनर्वसुः ॥ १६ ॥
bhrājiṣṇurbhōjanaṃ bhōktā sahiṣṇurjagadādijaḥ |
anaghō vijayō jētā viśvayōniḥ punarvasuḥ || 16 ||
He shines forth in His four-armed form for His devotees. He becomes their food and enjoys their offerings, bearing their faults with patience. He existed before the world, is free from all sin, and makes the work of Brahma and Shiva succeed. Through them He creates and dissolves, and He dwells in His devotees again and again.
