Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama Anubhavam · Appendix: Your Birth Star

Anuradha (अनुराधा)

Anuradha covers verses 65 to 68 of the stotram, one for each of its four padas.

Pada 1 · Verse 65

श्रीदः श्रीशः श्रीनिवासः श्रीनिधिः श्रीविभावनः ।

श्रीधरः श्रीकरः श्रेयः श्रीमान् लोकत्रयाश्रयः ॥ ६५ ॥

śrīdaḥ śrīśaḥ śrīnivāsaḥ śrīnidhiḥ śrīvibhāvanaḥ |

śrīdharaḥ śrīkaraḥ śrēyaḥ śrīmān lōkatrayāśrayaḥ || 65 ||

He gives Sri Mahalakshmi Her glory of eternal love, and is both Her Lord and ruled by Her. He supports Her as a tree supports a divine creeper and keeps Her as a gem in a casket. She makes His greatness known, and He bears Her by nature, bringing Her with Him in every incarnation. With Her, He is the refuge of the three worlds, as father and mother are of their children.

Pada 2 · Verse 66

स्वक्षः स्वङ्गः शतानन्दो नन्दिर्ज्योतिर्गणेश्वरः ।

विजितात्मा विधेयात्मा सत्कीर्तिश्छिन्नसंशयः ॥ ६६ ॥

svakṣaḥ svaṅgaḥ śatānandō nandirjyōtirgaṇēśvaraḥ |

vijitātmā vidhēyātmā satkīrtiśchinnasaṃśayaḥ || 66 ||

His eyes enjoy the ocean of Sri Mahalakshmi's beauty, and His body is worthy even of Her admiration. Their mutual love gives Him boundless bliss, and He is ever joyful with Her. He is Lord of the radiant nityasuris, yet delights in being won over by His devotees and at their command. His fame for amiability is true, and it removes every doubt about how easily He can be reached.

Pada 3 · Verse 67

उदीर्णः सर्वतश्चक्षु रनीशः शाश्वतस्स्थिरः ।

भूशयो भूषणो भूतिरशोकः शोकनाशनः ॥ ६७ ॥

udīrṇaḥ sarvataścakṣu ranīśaḥ śāśvatasthiraḥ |

bhūśayō bhūṣaṇō bhūtiraśōkaḥ śōkanāśanaḥ || 67 ||

In His archa forms, He is clearly visible to the eyes of all, even ordinary people, and sets aside His lordship before His devotees. Those forms remain forever. At His devotees' request, He lies in the holy shrines to bless them, adorning the earth. He is all the wealth of those who surrender to Him, never abandons the helpless, and removes the sorrow of those who long for Him.

Pada 4 · Verse 68

अर्चिष्मानर्चितः कुम्भो विशुद्धात्मा विशोधनः ।

अनिरुद्धोऽप्रतिरथः प्रद्युम्नोऽमितविक्रमः ॥ ६८ ॥

arciṣmānarcitaḥ kumbhō viśuddhātmā viśōdhanaḥ |

aniruddhō’pratirathaḥ pradyumnō’mitavikramaḥ || 68 ||

He reveals His radiance to His true devotees and is worshipped in His archa forms, shining in the holy shrines. Pure in nature, He gives away all He has to those who resort to Him, and purifies those who leave their bodies in a holy place. As Aniruddha, Janardana and Pradyumna, He dwells in sacred places, and as Trivikrama His steps are beyond measure.
