Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama Anubhavam · Appendix: Your Birth Star
Revathi (रेवती)
Revathi covers verses 105 to 108 of the stotram, one for each of its four padas.
Pada 1 · Verse 105
यज्ञभृद्यज्ञकृद्यज्ञी यज्ञभुग्यज्ञसाधनः ।
यज्ञान्तकृद्यज्ञगुह्यमन्नमन्नाद एव च ॥ १०५ ॥
yajñabhṛdyajñakṛdyajñī yajñabhugyajñasādhanaḥ |
yajñāntakṛdyajñaguhyamannamannāda ēva ca || 105 ||
He makes a sacrifice complete, despite its defects, when the final offering is made remembering Him. He created sacrifice, is its master, enjoys and protects it, and makes it a means to reach Him, with knowledge of Him as its goal and secret. He is enjoyed like food by those He empowers, and He in turn enjoys His devotees.
Pada 2 · Verse 106
आत्मयोनिः स्वयंजातो वैखानः सामगायनः ।
देवकीनन्दनः स्रष्टा क्षितीशः पापनाशनः ॥ १०६ ॥
ātmayōniḥ svayaṃjātō vaikhānaḥ sāmagāyanaḥ |
dēvakīnandanaḥ sraṣṭā kṣitīśaḥ pāpanāśanaḥ || 106 ||
He mixes easily with His devotees, like sugar with milk. He incarnates by His own will, without waiting to be asked, and uproots the sorrow of birth and death. The released souls sing the Sama in His praise. As Krishna, He is the joy of Devaki, yet is the creator of all. He comes most often to earth, where suffering is greatest, and the stories of His deeds destroy all sins.
Pada 3 · Verse 107
शङ्खभृन्नन्दकी चक्री शार्ङ्गधन्वा गदाधरः ।
रथाङ्गपाणिरक्षोभ्यः सर्वप्रहरणायुधः ॥ १०७ ॥
śaṅkhabhṛnnandakī cakrī śārṅgadhanvā gadādharaḥ |
rathāṅgapāṇirakṣōbhyaḥ sarvapraharaṇāyudhaḥ || 107 ||
He holds the conch Panchajanya, the sword Nandaka, the discus Sudarshana, the bow Sharnga whose twang and arrows destroy His enemies, and the mace Kaumodaki. The discus is ever ready in His hand, and nothing can shake Him from His vow to protect those who surrender to Him. With countless other divine weapons, He removes every obstacle in their way.
Pada 4 · Verse 108
वनमाली गदी शार्ङ्गी शङ्खी चक्री च नन्दकी ।
श्रीमान् नारायणो विष्णुर्वासुदेवोऽभिरक्षतु ॥
vanamālī gadī śārṅgī śaṅkhī cakrī ca nandakī |
śrīmān nārāyaṇō viṣṇurvāsudēvō'bhirakṣatu ||
May the glorious Narayana, Vishnu, Vasudeva, who wears the vanamālā garland and bears the mace Kaumodaki, the bow Sharnga, the conch Panchajanya, the discus Sudarshana and the sword Nandaka, protect us on all sides.
