Present Day Sri Vaishṇava Mutts and Āshramams

To help aspirants seek out an Āchārya, the mutts and Āshramams and their Jeeyars help and serve the Sri Vaishṇava community. At present, several Sri Vaishṇava Mutts and Āshramams are serving the community. In addition to the Āchāryas of these mutts and Āshramams, many independent grihastha-acharyas are helping society.

Each of the Āshramams and mutts trace their roots back to Swami Rāmānujar. Swami Rāmānujar had appointed seventy-four Simhasanadhipatis to monitor, maintain, and propagate the Sri Vaishṇava Paramparā. Under Swami Deshikan, the Parakala Mutt was established. The Ahobila Mutt, Srimad Andavan Āshramam, and the Sri Poundarikapuram Āshramam were established by the various successors of Swami Deshikan. In the Tenkalai Sampradāyam, Sri Maṇavāḷa Māmunigaḷ founded the Vanamamalai Mutt.

All one has to do is seek out and surrender to their Āchārya, who, out of their infinite compassion, always welcomes the disciple and guides them in their spiritual journey.
