In the evening comes the Swarṇa Rathotsavam, in which the Lord is drawn in procession on a golden chariot, intricately decorated, signifying prosperity and divine majesty, and drawing great crowds of devotees.
At night the Lord rides the Gaja Vāhanam, the elephant, a symbol of royalty and abundance, associated with the Lord's power to remove obstacles and bestow good fortune.
