The Garden at Sri Rangam
Reaching the temple, he entered the sanctum and beheld Perumāl reclining upon Ādisheshan. Overwhelmed by the beauty of Sri Ranganātha, he wished to see nothing else, and resolved that the rest of his life would be spent entirely in the service of Aranganāthan. Considering how to express his devotion, he decided to offer the Lord a garland every day.
So he laid out a great nandavanam, a flower garden, in Sri Rangam, planted with every kind of beautiful and fragrant flower, and built a small hut in its midst. Every morning he first offered his garland to Sri Ranganātha, and only then turned to the tasks of the day. Since he regarded Sri Ranganātha alone as the most beautiful thing in the world, he never turned his attention to any woman, and people came to think that he had no feelings for those around him.
Watching this from Sri Vaikuṇṭham, Tirumagaḷ, Sri Mahālakshmī, asked Sriman Nārāyaṇa how this man, so absorbed in devotion to Sri Ranganātha, could ever know how love is expressed, and what woman could ever win the heart of one like Vipra Nārāyaṇa. Knowing all that was to come, the Lord replied simply that she would soon see what would happen to him.
