Shrine Location
Sthala Puranam
This is the kshethram where Lord Sri Krishna grew up, slew demons, and performed his leelas. In the present day, we can see Sri Nand Yashodha Bhavan, the house where the Lord was brought and grew up. In the present-day scenario, this is the main temple. In the garbha gudi, we can see Lord Balarāma alongside Yashodha and Nanda. Lord Krishna can be seen in a cradle with a rope, which is given to devotees to comfort the Lord. Another important place in this kshethram is the Rāman Reti. This is the place where Lord Krishna played as a child.
This is the place where Lord Krishna ate mud and showed Yashodha the entire creation by opening His mouth. It is customary to roll in the sand, as this is the place where the Lord stepped and played. People take the sand from this place asa form of prasadam.
