Sthala Puranam
According to legend, Lord Rāma performed tapas here at this kshethram to nullify the brahmahatyadosham for killing Rāvaṇa. Lord Rāma is also said to have bathed in the Gaṅgā River and performed tarpanam for His forefathers here at this kshethram.
